I WORK ACROSS RESEARCH, ANALYSIS, AND PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
Turning insight, data, and business needs into clear product decisions.

Why I moved into product space
Products don’t feel simple by accident. They feel seamless because someone took the time to understand human behavior deeply before building anything.
That realization pulled me into product — not for the visuals but for the thinking behind it. The part where you define the right problem, connect user behavior to real business outcomes, and make decisions before a single solution is built. That’s the work I show up for.
The foundation behind how I think
My background isn't a traditional tech path, and that shaped everything about how I work. I studied agricultural extension and rural development, where the entire discipline is built on one skill: understanding how real people in real communities think, behave, and make decisions.
Before I ever worked on a digital product, I was already learning how to conduct field research, identifying root problems, observing behavior without bias, and translating complex human challenges into practical solutions. That foundation never left me. It just found a new home in product work.
How I approach problems
I don’t start with features or interfaces. I start with clarity.
What does the data tell us about how this is actually being used?
Where is the system breaking down, and why?
What does success look like for both the user and the business?
Once those answers are clear, everything else — research, analysis, strategy, and execution — has direction.
I work across the full product process, from discovery and problem definition to documenting requirements to validating assumptions and testing. Whatever the team needs most at that stage, that’s where I focus.
How I’m evolving as a product thinker
I'm currently completing a master's in digital transformation, expanding how I think about technology beyond individual products into how organizations adopt it, where systems fail, and how better decisions get made across teams.
That perspective shapes every brief I take on. I'm not just thinking about a feature or a flow; I'm thinking about the ecosystem it lives in and the outcomes it's responsible for.
How I collaborate with teams
I show up as a collaborator first. I ask questions early, share thinking openly, and focus on helping teams move from assumptions to clearer decisions. I'm comfortable working across ambiguity, especially in environments where the goal isn't just to build something but to figure out what should be built in the first place.
I’m open to roles across product research, analysis, and product development, where understanding users, systems, and decisions is critical.
If that's the kind of work your team values, I’d be happy to connect.

PRINCIPLES THAT GUIDE MY WORK
"Always start every project with 'Why?' not what to build, but why it matters."
"The best solution isn't the most elegant one. It's the one that solves the right problem for the right person at the right time."
"Research without synthesis is just data collection. Insight is what changes decisions."
"The most expensive mistake in any product is solving the wrong problem confidently."
WHAT TEAMS SAY ABOUT WORKING WITH ME
A Thorough, Dependable Problem-Solver
"Bukunmi brings a rare combination of sharp critical thinking and deep empathy for users. She asks the right questions before jumping to solutions, structures her work with clear intent, and consistently delivers beyond expectations. She never backs down from a challenge, adapts quickly to complex problems, and elevates every team she works with. Any organization would be gaining a serious asset."

Curious, Analytical, and Collaborative
"What impressed me most about working with Bukunmi was her approach to problem-solving; she never accepted the surface-level answer. She dug into root causes, asked uncomfortable questions, and always pushed for solutions that were smarter, not just faster. She brings an energy that makes the whole team think harder and aim higher. I wouldn't hesitate to work with her again."
